DAYTONA BEACH. FL (Mar 5, 2010) Global Warming, huh. I think one of the large glaciers must have melted a bit and positioned itself just off the shore of Daytona Beach. This cold is truly unbelievable. It seems that this years biggest seller from the vendors is face masks. I was beginning to think that I was at the filming of one of those 'scare the crap outa me' flicks. Once the sun went down, almost everyone was bundled up more that the spectators at this years Winter Olympics. The footwear was quite varied though, from pink sneakers, the harness boots, to the flip flops. Most of them were actually dragging their feet down Main Street and that left a whole bunch of rubber on the road, probably more than what is left on the Speedway from the NASCAR races. | |
For those of you that know me, the hoesmobile was involved in an accident Wednesday night. I got up early Friday morning, went out to pack up the Gold Wing, and dedided that I am just too old to be riding the distance to Daytona in that kind of cold. With that said, I rented a car and then drove up to car week, yeh, thats what it looked like after the sun went down on Main Street. Only the brave and young at heart were on their motorcycles around 8:00 PM. Just call me a non-biker car driving SOB. Thank you very much. |  |
If you read the first article, I had mentioned the benches John's Rock and Ride had put out in front of his establishment, welllll, it seem the city fathers don't want anyone to have a decent place to sit and rest, so they made him remove them. Nothing like some power-hungry-know-it-all bureaucrat to make another stupid decision based on his complete ignorance of the situation. Hell, I'm an 'older' biker type with COPD and a nice place to sit is considered valuable property at any event. Once again, a couple of the bar girls asked for a tip to photograph them. And again, here is a tip for those girls: I am a professional photographer who normally charges over two hundred dollars for a 1 hour shoot, if your picture is posted on my site it is a courtesy so you may get more exposure for FREE! Besides, get over yourself, there are a whole lot of hot biker babes at Bike Week that are a lot more photogenic than you. |

Throughout the afternoon hours there were quite a few ladies showing as much skin as the current (bureaucrat decision again) laws allow. Thank you girls for attempting to keep the Daytona Bike Week traditions alive. I know all who saw you were quite pleased, I hope. This has been a succesful Bike Week for me this year, even though I did cut short my stay both weekends I was there. At one point during the day, the street was crowded with motorcycles, the sidewalks were crowding up to create a slow walk, and the infamous Clydesdales from THAT beer company were present. I had a great time, hope you did too! With all that said, I hope to see you at the many upcoming motorcycle events. As with any of my galleries, feel free to copy the photos for your personal use.
