Compassionate Friends 2010 Fundraiser in Boca Raton, Florida Photos by CycleShotz!

Boca Raton. FL (April 24, 2010) Who says Facebook is a waste of time. Without an invite from a longtime friend of mine, I would never have known about this awesome organization, called Compassionate Friends. Here is a quote from their website Compassionate Friends:
"The Compassionate Friends is about transforming the pain of grief into the elixir of hope. It takes people out of the isolation society imposes on the bereaved and lets them express their grief naturally. With the shedding of tears, healing comes. And the newly bereaved get to see people who have survived and are learning to live and love again."
—Simon Stephens, founder of The Compassionate Friends
This friend of mine lost her son, Charles "Lee" ,who was killed in a motorcycle accident on June 2nd, 2008 and she was totally devastated. She found this organization and they have been a mountainn of strength for her as she works through the grieving process.
I arrived at St Pauls Lutheran in Boca Raton about 6:00PM and there were already about 20 cars entered in the car show. There was actually one row that was soley devoted to the family of Porche's that were entered! Quite an expensive row at that. There was also a row that was almost totally devoted to the Mustang crowd. My favorite was.................uh, all of them! What a collection.
A few people asked me why CycleShotz! was there covering a car show, so I told them: Bikers are gearheads too. That was enough said for our side!
The young gentleman volunteers that were outside did a heck of job directing the traffic to where it needed to be, and they even said that last year there only about 25 entries in the car show and this year there were close to 50 entries.
Inside the event, there was food, drinks, vendors, and even face painting for those young at heart.
The silent auction alone had to raise well over a couple of grand, with the 50/50 and the raffle adding even more to their coffers. All in all, it appeared to be a successful event, and opened the eyes of some as to the great value of an organization of this type.
Thank you to Ali for inviting me to this spectacular and worthy event. I hope I can make it again for next years event.
As with any of my galleries, feel free to copy the photos for your personal use. Due to recent abuse of my photo policy, If you add them to any social website (Facebook, Twitter, my Space, etc), limit it to a maximum of 5 photos and give credit to Cycleshotz.com with a link back to my site.

Thank you to all who allowed me to photograph them!
