Cyclepalooza 2010 at Palm Beach International Raceway Photos


The noise, the smell of burning nitrous, the action in the pits and on the track, well, it made for quite a busy day on Saturday.(I was unable to attend the Sunday events due to a previous commitment.)
The gates officially opened at noon to the spectators, but they were streaming in since about 11 AM. The crowd wasn't as large as last year, but their enthusiasm made up the difference. Whether you were in the stands, walking through the pit area, at the main stage, or just walking around the vendor area, it was quite a full day of non-stop action.
Out on the track there was everything from pit bikes to top fuel motorcycles racing. There was one incident where one of the top fuel drivers was caught by a cross wind and thrown into the safety net at the end of the strip, but he was not hurt because he was rolling quite slowly at that point of the race.
The entertainment on the stage was, as usual, top notch and rocked the crowd all day.
With all the sponsors and attendees, the day was once again a major success.
If you missed this event because of the threatening weather, you missed a really great day. Cyclepalooza has the potential to become a major event, drawing spectators and participants from across the country. (There were racers from out of state today which made the competion even more exciting). A special thanks to Scott and all the other Cyclepalooza Staff for giving me free reign as a photographer.
