Daytona Bike Week 2015 at Cacklebery Campground in Daytona Beach, FL
Samsula, FL (MAR 16, 2015)
Weather. Yep, so important. The first weekend was not good due to the cold and rain, basically typical Daytona Bike Week weather, but when the CycleShotz staff returned to Cacklebery Campground on Thursday it was a whole different story. 80's in the day, mid 60's at night, FANTABULOUS!!!!! By the way if you have ever been to the cole slaw wrestling across the street at the Cabbage Patch, you can find Cacklebery right across the street. Just look for the big co.....errrr, Rooster!!! (and all the great looking bartenders!!)
Once again, as in Biketoberfest, I remained in the campground. Main Street, all the traffic, and just plain ol' crowdedness keeps me away from all those other venues, besides, with the almost non stop entertainment, why would I leave?
Skinny Molly, Big Daddy, Michael Allman, Natalie Nicole Green, Greg Billings and so many more kept the venue rocking from 11:00 am through 11:00 pm with every one of them announced by the great emcee 'Pipes". There were so many bands playing throughout the entire 10 days that I apologize if I didn't mention you, but I do know there wasn't a complaint from the large crowds that attended each and every band!!!!
The burnout pit was quite the attraction with quite a few bikes participating for the grand prize of two new tires provided by Verhulst Motorcycle Service. A few of the bikes actually had their exhaust pipes cherry red from the heat to the tip of the pipe. Now, I am not a master mechanic, but that just can't be too good on the valve train, but even worse are the two that had minor fires.........
This year there was a huge ferris wheel that acted as a great landmark that was quite visible for miles at night!
What a concept, that's even better than the searchlight scenario.
Keeping entertained was not a problem at all, if you rode the go carts you already know that. Ain't nothing funnier than watching a bunch of people who may have had a few drinks acting like Dale Earnhardt!!! Just walking around you could spend hours perusing all the different vendors wares, and oh by the way, 99% of the vendors I spoke with will definitely be back in October.
At this point, I must give praise to the entire Cacklebery Campground Staff, making our stay a great experience, and keeping the entire 10 days running quite smoothly. That is awesome for just their 2nd full time event.
Reserve your campsite early as this venue is growing fast and will soon be the place to be.
CACKLEBERY CAMPGROUND.......MORE THAN JUST A CAMPGROUND!!! Oh, did I mention all the HOTTT ladies???
P.S. Don't forget to travel through the campground once it gets dark!!
